Original chest restored
Length: 172 cm
Depth: 52 cm
Height: 59 cm
Austere 600-style chest made around 1750 in the region of Emilia Romagna.
The style, simple and linear, distinguishes this Italian region from others that were very often influenced by other artistic and stylistic movements.
The chest in question re-proposes the classic simple and austere model that was most popular between the 17th and 18th centuries.
The lowering of the chest was totally redone in the present day using the same essence of Italian walnut wood that makes up the rest of the body of this piece.
The restorer also replaced the inner bottom of the chest using antique fir wood.
The simple lines of the chest, described earlier, make it capable of fitting within modern, designer furniture as well.
