Antique console with mirror

Antique and elegant console table with mirror of Venetian provenance.

The presumed period of production dates back to the late 1700s as, in the years between about 1775 and 1795, Italy experienced a strong influence from France and the Louis XVI style.

The reintroduction of a linear, clean, square form gives birth to the style better known as Neoclassical.
Some clues, which place it in that period, are the legs are turned and tapered and there are carved decorations such as frets, rosettes, acanthus leaves highlighted by the application of gold leaf.

The console table underwent a simple conservation restoration since it was in an excellent state of preservation when it was found.
